Carl Atkey, Head of CarelineUK >>

Carl began his career as a marine electrician, completing a 4 year indentured apprenticeship before moving on to become an Electronic Design Engineer, Marine Commissioning Engineer, Service Supervisor and in the early 1990s reached the position of Development Director involved in the design of social alarms, control centres and telephone solutions, also sponsoring a research programme at Canterbury University into tele-medicine.

Carl joined Cirrus, CarelineUK’s sister company, in 2001 and with his wealth of technical knowledge and ability became the Technical Director in 2006. Through his technical role Carl has developed many strong operational partnerships, working closely with a lot of CarelineUK's customers and the change in role, to Head of CarelineUK last year, was a natural and beneficial move for himself and the company.

Carl intends to not only ensure the continued success of CarelineUK but build it into the most technically advanced and professional emergency call monitoring centre in the UK.

Gill Bennett, Operations Manager >>

Gill has been in the industry for 5 years, with a strong management background spanning over 20 years. Gill worked for a Registered Social Landlord as their Telecare Business Manager, running a team of Telecare Installers and growing the business through raising their profile locally and nationally.

Working with partners such as Occupational Therapists, Local Councils, and Voluntary Organisations, Gill believes that strong foundations in any business are the staff. Valuing the people, listening to their ideas, opinions and providing continuous professional development will promote a strong team who are dedicated in providing a quality service.

Gill has been with CarelineUK for over two years now and is enjoying the challenge of running one of the largest alarm receiving centres in the UK.

Samira Meegan, Business Development Manager >>

Samira Joined CarelineUK in March 2009 from the financial services sector and brings a wealth of experience in her Business Development role. She was runner up as BDM of the Year at the Legal and General National Awards 2008.

In her new role with us she will be responsible for growing our current portfolio and developing our propositions in Out Of Hours Monitoring and our new mobile pendant/lone worker.

Samira comments: "I am very proud to be working with a great company and management team that provides a professional service with acute attention to detail, knowing that if there is ever a problem we are always here to deal with any situation."

Leanne Cannon, Senior Operator >>

Leanne is a Senior Operator, second in command, running her shift in the Supervisors absence. Leanne is also heavily involved with training, running many of the new starters training plans. Leanne has now worked for CarelineUK for over 5 years.

Leanne enjoys the challenges that each shift brings, especially the many intriguing calls that have been dealt with over the years by her team, such as: loose pet snakes roaming corridors within developments, residents restraining burglars and even a herd of escapee cows strolling around the gardens and car park of a site.

Robert Clark, Operator >>

Bob has worked for CarelineUK for the last 11 years as a Call operator. The bulk of his day is spent handling calls with Residents and the rest is taking Out of Hours service calls.

Bob feels the job is perfect for him, perhaps testament to how long he has been with CarelineUK.

Bob comments: "The job involves a lot of responsibility so you need to be someone who is dedicated and thorough to be good at it. It is stimulating, challenging and varied, but the most pleasure I get is from knowing that I am really helping people and making a difference."

Lynda Poxon, Service Desk Supervisor >>

Lynda joined CarelineUK as an operator in September 1995 before progressing to her current role. Prior to this, Lynda worked for eight years as a Resident House Manager.

"The changes I have seen over the years have been so vast and this new move has introduced exciting new technology and many new faces to the team. I feel privileged to have been part of a company that has grown so greatly but still retains its family image and values. I can still speak about the company with such pride".
